The usage and necessity of Information Technologies in the business world presents some variations, about the closeness of the organizations to technologies and how they perceive the technology. The concepts brought to the business world by IT companies are not only solving the problems of decision makers and business unit managers but also they create new problems to them and these problems need to have new solutions.
The concepts related with information technologies have such an entrance to our lives, the perception of those concepts by people started to effect the health of organizations.
Due to the different way of describings of the concepts such as “CRM”, “ERP”, “e-Business”, “Business Intelligence”, “Call Center”, by solution providers, cause to wrong understandings and to wrong investments of decision makers.
In fact, those concepts may show different meanings for every kind of supplier. This is because of strategical positioning their product and services and need to define a play ground in the market related with their subject.
Every organizations’ encountered difficulties on the growing path demands for acceleration and facilitation, route them somehow to techonological solutions. Determination of solutions and apperance of demands, becomes real by rehearsing the direct and indirect factors.
When fast decisions needed for fast growth of organization, at the same time they cause single-island technology solution investments. These single-island solutions solve some problems in the short term, but in the long term they bring different problems about integration with other applications and scalable growth.
That’s why, it is necessary to revise the initial strategic plan continuously and this plan should be updated with the trusted well known business partners. Otherwise, in the near future, it is obvious that the technology operation group in the organization will shift from proactive service to reactive service provider position.
After all, the managers of information technology groups of every organizations are playing a very important role in the growth decisions of their organizations. Taking right decisions are only possible with the suggestions of IT group leaders. Strategically correct investments, flexible development and proactive management, will provide to that organization for their concrete future steps.
Today Customer Relationship Management ( CRM ) concept shows up as a main subject, especially in the companies where sales, marketing and customer relations are highly intensive. Researches showed that, the announcements of CRM projects in the company as “CRM Project”, results resistance from employees. This resistance comes from, obligations about following the system, revision of processes, definition of new processes, the spending time to fulfill the system requiremens instead of spending their times at customer sites. However, doing the announcement without using “CRM” word, and also communicate about increasing like the company efficiency, the quantity of customers, the quality, the customer satisfaction and the sales; will provide a smooth project life-cycle and will get support from the employees.
It is necessary to bear in mind that,it is possible to realize everything with technology. That’s why, demands should be defined clearly, effects on employees should be investigated, and internal communication should be done very well and correct.
