Habits and Need for a Change

Habits and Need for a Change

The tools in our life are necessarily creating some habits and direct our life with an addiction that we may not notice. It can be anything. In my 20 years in information technology I have been in different experiences in different solution platforms starting from PCs to mainframes. In this time frame, new advanced technological tools sometimes sticked to the time and sometimes dissappeared in time. But, the operating system ( i.e:windows ) that I have used in PCs and notebooks, created a habit in my life and became indispensable, because of its commonness.

In the events of different needs and cost factors, choices of alternatives routes our capability of decision making. It should be taken as a normal behaviour when making a choice where especially standart PCs and the low cost products focused on one operating systems.

Nowadays, Apple produtcs became more popoular. “Software and human focused” approach became a choice of criteria and has been successfully implemented by Apple, even it has been said for years. Company market value increased by creating a product differentiation with brand marketing and usability of software more than hardware became a main factor.

In the last weeks I found a chance to check in detail where the products which I have never looked. And I am excited with the products, with its virusless structure, its speed, its problemless working, its ease of use, its focused solutions ( photograph, movie, music and image ). I think from now on, I will live my freedom to make a choice by giving up from my habits.

The need for a change becomes either because of inadequate structure that we have or because of an increased awareness of ours. Changing or giving up the habits can be long and painful. But, the variety comes from changes may mitigate this process.

In general, we can easily decide about a product of our technology choices, from the served offerings, look around, and disregard the “soft” points that we really need. Let’s reverse the order of this decision process, and lets first move with our needs. You will see that your “need for a change” will wake up, may be you will change your habits or you will continue as before. You can only see this by trying.
