It becomes much more difficult for local companies in these days, where all people talks about crisis, layoffs are continuing, adaptation efforts of the companies to new environment. Restructuring supports of global companies in order to sustain to the crisis, brought new problems to them. It is very hard to guess where the problem stays. But we can say that companies and problem sizes are increasing in direct proportion.
Where long term strategies are leaving their places to short term strategies, taking quick and right decisions becomes more important. Starting the implementation of problem management and change management creates new skill demand. The companies invested on this subject, will start to feel stronger in this crisis time.
It seems that strong companies will stand in these difficult days even it will be more difficult days. Restructings, business model changes, layoffs are the steps to prolong the time of sufferance. In these cases, there would be different ideas. Especially, the people who loses their jobs should look from the eyes of their company by thinking the global effects, and take necessary actions personally. Problem management will be easier if the communication level is high between the employee and the company. Facilitation and direction of this are in the hands of the executives in that company.
Working on decreasing the costs and expenses in change management, and improvements in the business units act as cost centers, can be seen as first steps for the companies who have multinational operations. It will be inevitable to shrink the resources and costs for particularly the companies who invested on IT. Alternative offerings such as outsourcing and selling IT investments to other companies in order to work in a different model, will improve their environment, and will also help better transfer ofthe human resources.
Limited employee benefit packages will be more acceptable in the next days. While this is an unpleasant thing for the employees, it will be accepted by them because of the current conditions.
Pressures and risks on high level managers, cause harsh measures and worklife complications. To relax the environment, to be calm, to keep the communication on high level, to decide together in common problems; will be enough to open a healthy and new page for riding out this period.
