THE POWER OF BEING LATE

We always speak in the advocacy of being the first is a power. But being the first, does not always provide success and power. The development of IT sector in Turkey shows this as a good example. If we compare the developments in telecommunication and IT sector of Turkey with European examples, we can easily see that we have speed in this development way.

We see the results and utilize from the developments in telecommunication, internet technologies, mobile phone applications, government services, infrastructure studies, banking systems, health applications and developments in training systems. We get more utilized and speedy. But, we see that these are not enough, and we want more.

Although we follow the developments of information technologies in other developed countries, the growth in our IT sector is 20% YoY. The growth is comparably lower in the developed countries. This is due to the dispersion of the investmens in the long term and the average age of the populations are relatively older.

Today, still those countries go for increasing the efficiency and adopting the new approaches. It is provided that, the investments done in Turkey are very new in almost all industries, today most of the enterprises in different industries, are in more leading positions with their western examples.

Let's look at the banks. Today, in Central and Eastern Europe, most of the banks are not using EFT systems. But in Turkey, most of the applications in banking sector, are in the leading positions comparably with the banks in abroad.

When foreign companies come to Turkey for investing and acquiring, technological competency and infrastructure of the candidates becomes more important, and it becomes more attractive for the buyers. In parallel with the studies of Adoption to Europe Union standards, improvement of government services progresses well. Today, municipalities, and ministires, and other units of government services provides, are using internet technologies spreadly. The losses in the past performances of these government bodies, now decreased and improved by using the technology.

On the other hand, with the globalization the technological capabilities in Turkey, gives more positive direction to our life with proper usage. In the future, our life will be richer with mobile technology usage. In this period, global factors, technological change, and incrase in young population will effect.

Anyhow, it will be necessary to change the name of "mobile phone" in our daily lives. Maybe it can be the right thing to name it as "Life Facilitator Gadget". From our home to the office, in everywhere, we started to carry different small devices. We need to use them more in a compact way. Producers started to design this kind of devices. The good thing is, technology companies started to design the devices with fashion, textile, even with the effects of our social lives; now we can say that emotion combines with the technology.

In the next years, it is for sure that, Turkey will come to a satiety level.

Because of these, if we correctly use the lessons we learned from other countries and if we provide and produce our product and services for our new and creative approaches, we can correctly use this power on time and place, and we can achieve very good results.
