Purpose Marriage for Efficiency

Purpose Marriage for Efficiency

Delegate the business, Not delegate or partially delegate.... Fast developments in Information Technology forces us to change the way of working. Technological capabilities causes to choose outsourcing models for most of the companies for their non-core business tasks. Today, efficient results comes from the outsourced specific production stages or outsourced infrastructures. Business processes, technology & infrastructure, human resources, help desk, call center and business continuity are the main topics for “outsourcing” in technology.

Companies are changing their directions to outsourcing, in order to decrease the costs, decrease the level of dependency and risks, increase the service levels, use more resources, go in parallel with the technological developments, and focus on the core business topics. When they decide to get the services from outside for their inside, they are leaving their traditional working methods, and going to get more efficient results with another company like a “targeted marriage”.

It is very important to analyze, and should be thought on them to go for outsourcing items, for critical an non-critical needs.

Outsourcing decision is very important. It should be carefully analyzed for critical and non-critical points to get the resources needs from outsourcing resources. Especially the selected outsource company, should provide services with the given service level agreements, with the given periods for a maximum customer satisfaction. The contracts should be prepared in very clear way, depending on the specific criteria, defined service levels and for the benefits of the two parties.

For a company who took the decision for outsourcing for some of their business processes, should implement a “change management” method with the outsourcing company before getting the services. Two parties should point a leader for their sides, and these leaders should create communication paths, and make controls until everything becomes routine.

We see a big demand in the beneficiary and supplier sides, because of the low services costs in outsourcing models. We see East Europe countries as an attraction point, with the exception of the countries such as India and China where manpower costs are very small. Geographical – cultural closenesses, education levels and use of foreing languages, make easier collaboration. Especially for the companies who has a base in Turkey and has an operation in East Europe, choose the outsourcing companies who has operation in both sides. We see the examples of these in Turkey nowadays.

If we want to see Turkey in the high rankings about “outsourcing”, the quality of the education should be increased, and radical decisions should be taken about Information Technology and investment doors should be open.
